What We Believe
Doctrinal statements can be confusing. We have tried to write our Creed so that these truths can be easily understood and flow naturally from the writings of Biblical authors.
WE BELIEVE in one God, the Father Almighty; Maker of heaven and earth and all that is.
And WE BELIEVE in one Lord Jesus Christ, who is the unique Son of God; who is in very nature God; begotten, but not created; through whom all things were created.
* He took on human flesh, laying aside the glory of His divine nature; came down from heaven; was born of the virgin Mary; lived as all men do with joy and sorrow; was crucified under Pontius Pilate.
* He suffered and was buried according to the Scriptures, but was resurrected the third day conquering death. He ascended into heaven, where he sits at the right hand of the Father to intercede for us; and He shall return again with glory, to judge both the living and the dead, and will sit on the throne of David.
And WE BELIEVE in the Holy Spirit, who is given by the Father and the Son as comforter and guide; who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified; who spoke through the prophets and the apostles.
And WE BELIEVE in one universal church; the faithful followers of Jesus the Christ; who, having recognized their need, have been forgiven of the penalty of sin and sealed unto the day of redemption. We are looking forward to the resurrection of the dead and the eternal life that is to come.
